Where to actually look

Four routes into work, and an honest note on who each one suits. Pick the one that matches your situation — or read two and decide. Everything here is free, and nothing on this site sells you a course at the end of it.

Start from where you are

Fresh grad, first job No experience yet, and every posting seems to want two years of it. The local job playbook → I want to work from home VA, bookkeeping, support, social media — without buying a “VA course.” The 30-day remote plan → Considering BPO The fastest route to a first job in the country. The honest version. The BPO guide → I have no skills yet OK lang ’yan. Free training that comes with a real certificate. Free training →

The four routes, compared

RouteSuits you ifRealistic timelineThe catch
Local employment
Playbook
You want a regular job with SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG, and you can get to an office or a job fair. Weeks to a few months. One-day hiring events can be same-day. Competitive at entry level, and your resume is screened by software before a human sees it.
BPO
Guide
You can hold a conversation in English and you want to start earning soon. Often the fastest — sometimes a week from application to training. A multi-stage funnel, night shifts, and an industry whose entry-level hiring outlook is shrinking as AI takes over the most routine accounts.
Remote & freelance
30-day plan
You have, or can build, one specific skill and you can handle an irregular income at the start. 30–90 days to a first client is realistic. Faster than that is luck, not a plan. No employer contributions, you handle your own tax and benefits, and this is the space with the heaviest concentration of fake “hiring” offers.
Government
PDS walkthrough
You want security and a clear salary grade, and you can handle a slow, documentary process. Months. Plan around the civil service exam schedule. The paperwork is the filter. A wrong entry on the PDS can void an application before anyone reads your qualifications.

Know how to check a recruiter

The Philippines is second in Asia-Pacific for fraudulent job offers, and fresh graduates are the main target. Three questions settle most of it.

How to verify →

One rule that covers most of the danger If there is a fee to get hired, walk away. A legitimate local application is free. No placement fee, no training fee, no “refundable” deposit, no processing fee over GCash. And no employer ever needs your OTP.

How much should you ask for?

Entry-level reality, how to answer “expected salary?” without underselling yourself, and why the offer is not the payslip.

I am not a recruiter or an HR professional. I built this site after watching people close to me spend months looking for work and paying for “courses” that just repackaged free information. Every guide here is researched from official sources, every source is linked so you can check it yourself, and anything I cannot back up is labelled as an estimate.
