Job Offer Scam Checker

May inalok sa'yong trabaho at parang may kakaiba? Answer these twelve questions about the offer and get a straight assessment. Each question maps to a documented recruitment-fraud pattern — and some of them are, on their own, enough to walk away.

Private by design Your answers stay in your browser. Nothing is submitted, stored, or logged — there is no server involved. This matters here: people checking an offer are often already worried, and you shouldn't have to hand those details to anyone.

The rule that catches almost everything

Kapag ikaw ang nagbabayad para magkatrabaho — scam 'yan. A legitimate employer pays you. A licensed local recruitment agency cannot charge you a placement fee. If money has to move from you to them before you're hired — "training fee," "processing," "starter kit," "refundable deposit," or equipment you must buy from their supplier — that alone settles it, no matter how professional everything else looks.

The two that are crimes against you

Letting money pass through your account. If a "client" or "employer" sends money to your GCash or bank account and asks you to forward it, keep a cut, or buy something with it — that is money muling. Under the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act (RA 12010), the criminal liability attaches to the account holder, and "hindi ko alam" is not a reliable defence. Refuse, and never let anyone use your account as a waypoint.

Handing over your OTP, MPIN, or password. No legitimate payroll process needs any of these. Your employer needs your name and account number to pay you — nothing more. Anyone asking for a one-time PIN is taking over an account, not onboarding you.

If you've already been hit

Report within 24–48 hours — speed is the main thing that determines whether funds can be traced or frozen.

I'm not a recruiter or an HR professional — I built this site after watching people close to me spend months looking for work, paying for "courses" that just repackaged free information. The signals used here come from SEC advisories, DMW guidance, and RA 12010, all linked on the Sources page. Read how I verify things →
